IQOO 7 and IQOO 7 Legend

Well the new IQOO 7 and IQOO 7 Legend has finally launched in India today. Although IQOO appears to be a new brand but it is a sub-brand of VIVO.

IQOO 7 and 7 Legend series had already launched in China in mid-January. So it was about time for the global launch. But due to the ongoing pandemic and the overall chipset shortage crisis, there was a delay of 3 months of its global launch.

Here is a quick look and comparison between both the devices.

So, first speaking of the IQOO 7, it is a rebranded version of IQOO neo 5 which launched in China in January. It seems that IQOO 7 that launched in china with the Snapdragon 888 chipset will not be launched globally, rather they launched it as a special edition IQOO 7 legend, which is built in partnership with BMW. Yes!!! the Automobile beast BMW. But we will come to that later. The IQOO Neo 5 or as globally referred to IQOO 7, comes with Snapdragon 870 chipset along with all the other specs that I have mentioned in the above spec comparison table.

The only difference in both the devices is the chipset alone. The 7 Legend comes with latest flagship processor SD 888 which in turn affects the pricing. The SD 870 is also a budget flagship, which does pretty well in comparison with SD 888.

Both phones have a 6.62 inch AMOLED display which at their respective price point is amazing. Both panels have an amazing adaptive 120HZ refresh rate and 300HZ touch sampling rate. Being an AMOLED screen does provide extreme color schemes and contrast. Also the screen is much brighter than its other competitors. It has a peak brightness of 1300 nits.

A main thing to notice apart from the above mind-blowing specifications is that IQOO is advertising these devices as a Dual Chip Monster. They do come with a dedicated display chip. It helps to convert SDR content to HDR and also it has enhanced MEMC technology which inserts frames into the content that we consume for a buttery smooth experience.

The IQOO 7 starts from ₹31990 and the Legend starts from ₹39990. Both the devices will go on sale from 1st May 2021 exclusively on Amazon. However, there are some exclusive pre-orders offers which bring down the prices of IQOO 7 starting from ₹27990 and IQOO 7 Legend starting from ₹34990.

Finally, if you ask for my opinion, if you are not that hardcore gamer and your budget is tight and under ₹30000 then you should probably go for the IQOO 7. If you’re flexible with your budget then you can definitely go for the latter IQOO 7 Legend.

These were my thoughts on the IQOO & series. Ask your question down in the comment sections. Also do suggest on what topic you want my next blog. Don’t forget to share this blog with your friends as much possible. It would mean a lot to me.

Stay tuned for my next blog…….😉😉
